Belagavi: Here is good news for Belagavits. India’s largest book mall Sapna is going open at the Kolhapur Circle of Belagavi city on 12 th December. It’s a 19th branch of Sapna Book House in Karnataka, spread in over 11,000 sq.ft. area with 100% eco-friendly lights and centrally air-conditioned.
Sapna started by founder chairman Suresh Shah in 1967 with small 40sq.ft area, presently having a display of over 5,00,000 sq.ft. with over 5 lakh titles. Books for general reading includes bestsellers and in different fields of Science, textbooks, books for competitive exams, academic books on engineering, computers, medicine and ICSE/ISC/CBSE and an enticing collection of children’s books and general books.
MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath will inaugurate the new Sapna Book Mall at 11 am on Thursday in presence of Jagadguru Tontada Siddarama Mahaswamiji of Tontadarya Mutt, Dambal in Gadag district. MLA Anil Benake, DC SB Bommanahalli, VTU vice-chancellor prof. Karisiddappa, Rani Channamma University vice-chancellor prof. M Ramachandra Gowda will be the guests while ex-mayor Siddanagouda Patil, member of Central Sahitya Academy Dr Sarjoo Katkar and Mangala Metgud, president of district Kannada Sahitya Parishad.
Managing director Nitin Shah said ” we are delighted to expand our horizons here in the beautiful city of Belagavi. For the first time, Belagavi Sapna will dedicate the entire ground floor exclusively for non-books “. He further added that “a customer walking into Sapna will surely not be disappointed, such is a wide variety of products we stock where we have something for everyone”.
The Mall has also stocks and sells a wide range of stationery, multimedia, gifts, toys and sports, arts and craft, back to school products, chocolates, magazines and wide range of Marathi books. In addition, Sapna is leading publisher of books in India, with over 6,000 titles in English and regional languages by reputed authors to its credit.
Presently, Sapna has 18 stores in Karnataka in which 10 in Bengaluru, and each one at Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi, Dharwad, Kalburgi, two at Coimbatore and the most recent at Erode. Sapna has received the Best Seller award from the Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Association of India and Federation of Educational Publishers in India.
