Belagavi: The Congress party has urged the election commission to impose ban on deputy CM Govind Karjol from campaigning in the by-elections, after he caught red handed distributing money to the people.
KPCC president Denesh Gundu Rao said election commission should take immediate action against the social welfare minister Karjol, since it’s a clear violation of the model code of conduct. Rao also told media persons in Chikkodi that, the Congress party is going to file a separate complaint against Karjol.
“We still believe in the election commission. Since the minister Karjol caught on camera distributing money and it is being aired by the news channels, election commission should register suo-moto case against him. Doing such things being a DCM, just for winning doesn’t suit”, Dinesh Gundu Rao said.
In the morning, DCM Karjol had caught on camera while distributing money. Electronic media also telecast the instruction of Karjol to media persons to delete the recording of money distribution.
