With every Avengers movie, Marvel Studios raised the bar higher. The production house laid the foundation for the first Avengers movie ten years ago with Iron Man and The Avengers to eventually built their way up to the mammoth they titled Avengers: Endgame. So how do you top that? Well, you don’t. Instead, you start afresh and from the basic, at least that’s Marvel Studios’ plan as per a new report. The production house is reportedly sitting on the discussion table to plan out the fifth Avengers movie and it won’t attempt to fill the big shoes of Infinity War and Endgame.
According to Avengers: Endgame producer Trinh Tran, there isn’t another saga like the Infinity Saga in the making. However, Tran did hint that there is a relatively smaller Avengers movie in the making that could pave the way to another saga of its own. Speaking to CinemaBlend, Tran explained, “Over 10 years ago, it’s always been our dream to get to Infinity War and Endgame level. We didn’t know obviously where that was going to go at the start of the studio, but it’s incredible to know that we were able to accomplish that.”
“Now it’d be amazing if we could get to that level 10 years later, so I think it’s a dream to continue doing that and build upon the MCU and the connective tissue that we have,” Tran added. The producer also added that the studio is focusing on the projects announced and the shows it will be rolling out on Disney Plus which could eventually lead up to something bigger in the decade to come.
While Tran did not spill the beans on Marvel’s plans for Avengers 5, Sources told We Got This Covered that the studio is eyeing a 2023 release. The report also adds that the new Avengers movie will feature Captains Marvel and America (Wilson), Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Jane Foster’s Thor, Scarlet Witch and Shang-Chi to name a few.
