Belagavi: Another good news for Belagavits as Star Air is going to launch direct flights to six more destinations directly from Belagavi by April under Regional Connectivity Scheme, Udan-3.
Belagavi-Jaipur, Belagavi-Jodhpur, Belagavi- Nagpur, Belagavi- Nasik, Belagavi- Surat, and Belagavi- Tirupati will be the destinations Star Air to launch. “Stay tuned for some good frequency additions to existing routes soon and newer routes additions from summer schedule starting 1st April! We will be adding another two aircraft to our fleet by March 2020!” Shrenik Ghodawat, managing director of Star Air has tweeted this morning.
Presently, Star Air is operating to three destinations- Ahmedabad, Indore, and Mumbai from Belagavi. And by April, this airline will be the largest airline giving services to a total of nine cities directly from Belagavi. Truject recently commenced operations to Tirupati. From April, there will be two direct flights to Tirupati from Belagavi.
Presently, total of 14 flights of six different airline companies operating from Belagavi Airport, in which 10 flights are operating under Udan-3 of the central government and four other flights under the non-Udan scheme. The flights operating between Belagavi- Bengaluru are under the non-Udan scheme. SpiceJet, Indigo, and Alliance Air have every day flights to Bengaluru while Star Air operates twice a week.
By April, the Belagavi Airport will operate a total of 20 flights every day directly to 13 cities- Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mysuru, Tirupati, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Nagapur, Nasik and Surat. “It’s good news if Star Air starts schedules allotted to it under Udan-3 by April”, Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director said to Today Breakinks.
