Belagavi: Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore opined there was no need of taking a decision like boycotting the ‘Invest Karnataka 2020’ meet by the industrial fraternity of Belagavi.
Speaking to the media persons here on Thursday, Kore said nothing wrong in organizing such an event in Hubballi and there is no need of making an issue out of it. Being from that place, it’s common that ministers usually try to take the events to the home town. “I will talk to the concerned people in this regard and if required next time we host such meet in Belagavi”, he said.
According to Kore, the days are no longer when Belagavi, Hubballi, and Dharwad will be called as triple-city. Moreover, the meet is not just restricted to Hubballi but entire North-Karnataka districts. “I am also signing an ethanol project in the meet. Aequs is one of the major investing company”, he briefed.
The government is ready to give required everything to Belagavi. Already road, rail, and air connectivity have been improved. Belagavi is one among the most lovable districts of chief minister BS Yediyurappa, Prabhakar Kore stated and called upon industrial fraternity that, Belagavi should play a major role in the Hubballi meet to showcase its range of manufacturing products.
There has been an online campaign running in Belagavi to boycott ‘Invest Karnataka’ meet in Hubballi since Wednesday, and a large number of people are commenting in support of the campaign. Most of the people have the opinion of that Hubballi is snatching the opportunities of Belagavi.
