Belagavi: Vijayapura regional centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), which covers Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Bidar, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Yadgir, Haveri, Gadag and Bellary districts has launched many new courses including a master course in Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ)
Regional director of the university- A Varadarajan detailed about the new courses to the media persons here on Monday. He said earlier there was the condition of two-year professional experience to take MCJ course, which has been abolished now, besides, there is no age bar get admission to this course.
IGNOU and ministry of health and family welfare have jointly developed certificate programmes of short term skill-based health programmes, they are- Master of Arts in Development Studies (MADVS), Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning and Development (PGDUPDL), Certificate in First Aid (CFAID) and Certificate in Community Health for Nurses (CCH).
The university is also offering job oriented Paramedical programmes through selected medical colleges/ district hospitals comes under Vijayapura like- Certificate in Home Health Assistance (CHHA), Certificate in General Duty Assistance (CGDA), Certificate in Geriatric Care Assistance (CGCA) and Certificate in Phlebotomy Assistance (CPHA). The last date for fresh admissions is 31st January.
