Belagavi: Prestigious and oldest Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), Philadelphia, USA has decided to present honourary doctorate degree to Dr Prabhakar Kore, Rajya Sabha member, the chairman of KLE Society and the chancellor of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER). Degree on Doctor of Science will be presented on 20th May during the convocation of the university.
TJU is one among the top 10 universities of America established in 1824. Dr Kore will be the first Indian who will get an honorary doctorate degree from this university. The university selected Dr Prabhakar Kore considering his relentless efforts in furthering the cause of education, healthcare and research and reaching the facilities to the poor and needy.
Disclosing to the media persons, KAHER vice-chancellor Dr Vivek Saoji, said the chancellor Dr Kore has not only created a world-class infrastructure in a tier-2 city like Belagavi but also ensured a very high quality of traditional and professional education. KAHER has a number of collaborations with TJU focusing on world-class researches, especially bringing down mother and child mortality rate.
The India Centre to be launched at TJU!
The India Centre for Studies will be inaugurated during the convocation of the TJU, scheduled on 20th May, in presence of Indian ambassador to the USA. This study centre will foster the academic and research collaboration between KAHER and TJU. It will be one among four centres being set by the TJU and other three being Italy, Ireland and Israel.
